Apple and Cisco Settle!

Well it's not as exciting as the day the iPhone was announced, this is pretty close. In an effort to avoid costly and petty litigation, Apple and Cisco have settled their lawsuit regarding the "iPhone" name. Looks like they'll both be able to keep the name, hopefully people don't get too confused. In actuality that is very unlikely, considering that they look nothing alike. If you're trying to buy an Apple iPhone at a place that sells VoIP phones and you don't notice the difference, you don't deserve an Apple iPhone. Poor Apple lawyers, this thing could have gone on for years. Oh well there's always that suit by LG, or the complaints by Greenpeace, or the...

Next on Fox: When Dumb Robbers Attack

So apparently just after the release of the PS3, a couple of geniuses decided to steal themselves a PS3. So they broke into a a house, tied the family up, snatched the Playstation, and took off. Just one problem, they had tied the family up with the power cord. They could have just gone to Target and bought a replacement, but no, these fellas were determined to keep it all original. So they returned and (surprise) were arrested, currently awaiting trial.

Romania

Sounds like any pirating complaints microsoft can make in the states are roundly trumped by the massive pirate software market in Romania. The president of Romania even went as far as to thank Gates for the software as an "investment" in Romania's future. So what's a Gates to do? Discourage piracy and keep people in the country from even knowing what Windows is? Or stay passive and continue being a household (or huthold) name at the cost of a few million serial numbers? Something tells me MS will be pushing harder on the European Union to tighten up controls.

Aquagate!

Around the United States the invasion of The Mooninites has overall been a success. In Boston however, "the man" has shut down the viral guerilla ad-campaign for the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie, labeling it a terrorist threat. The ad campaign's key component, an LED represnetation of the Mooninite Army's two members, Ignignokt and Err, has been blinking the bejeezus out of city officials. The Boston police have arrested two men who were hired by Turner Broadcasting, the owner of Cartoon Network, to do the advertising. In a brilliant mockery of the press, the two men spent their time directing reporters questions away from their arrest and on to the subject of hair styles, particularly those which developed during the 70's.

In the defense of the general public and the police, these "ads" during the day do look very ominous, and could be misconstrued by the non ATHF watching general public to be dangerous weapons of mass destruction.

I would have suggested carving "DA MOON RULZ #1" into police cars across the US, but that is just me. Oh and you can carve that into the cars with what I perceive to be a far greater threat to US Security...this.

Ha sho! Mistah Birr Gatesuh Makey Big Hong Kong Phuey

The Chinese government is currently testing its own homemade computer with a domestically developed CPU and Linux. The computer will sell around $250 with monitor and keyboard. The specs look pretty good for a developing market machine. Bill Gates will be less than pleased because it is not an x86 chip (Intel) but one based on the MIPS instruction set which means no installing of Windows. I'd say thats a win for China. As a congratulatory present, I am mailing you my Trusted Platform Module so you can keep track of those dissidents.

I look forward to the advertising campaign. "Comrade! Your Getting A Mao!"
